Sweeter Success in the Gym This July!

Hey Families!
Can you believe it’s July already? The gym is absolutely bubbling with energy, and we love watching our littlest athletes come to class ready to explore, high-five their coaches, and grow.
This month, we are transforming our circuits into a magical Candy Land theme! But beyond the sugary fun, there is some amazing developmental growth happening on the floor for our youngest movers.
Here is a fresh look at what your kiddos will be conquering over the next two weeks, the why behind the movement, and what to look for from the viewing areas!
The Focus Grid: July Weeks 1 & 2
- Theme Concept: CandyLand

- Character Focus: I am curious! (Exploring new spaces, asking questions with our bodies, and discovering what we can do!)
- Developmental Skill: Balance

- Big Skill Focus: Wall Bears (Inverted wall walking)
- Little Skill Objectives: Forward Rolls, Inchworms, Frog Jumps, and Long Jumps
- Sign of the Month: “Help”
(Thumb up on a flat hand)
The Circuit Breakdown: What They Are Mastering & Why
The Candy Land Nursery (Babynastics Stations)
- The Stations: Practicing important name recognition by discovering familiar people and hidden sweet objects around the room, and boosting fine motor coordination with colorful preschool puzzles.
- The Hidden Challenge: Pushing a giant, rolling “jawbreaker” (yoga ball) forward while encouraging independence in their crawling.
- The “Why”: Crawling while simultaneously pushing an object forces the brain to coordinate bilateral movement, while name and object recognition builds early vocabulary and cognitive focus.
The Rainbow River (Main Floor Stations)
- The Stations: Forward rolling straight through the vibrant “rainbow river” panel mat, frog jumping from dot to dot to reach the candy, and practicing a strong straddle hang on the bar.
- The Hidden Challenge: Dropping low to crab walk underneath a giant, elevated “candy bridge” without letting their hips touch the ground.
- The “Why”: Crab walking builds exceptional tricep and core strength, while the physical boundary of the bridge teaches spatial awareness. Hanging in a straddle completely shifts their center of gravity, challenging their grip and core balance.
The Dragon Room Castle (Dragon Room Stations)
- The Stations: Climbing up the “candy ladder” to execute a smooth forward roll down a cheese mat, long-jumping over hedgehog “gumdrops,” and holding onto the bar to walk their feet up a wedge mat to reach a taped-on candy.
- The Hidden Challenge: Climbing their feet up a cheese mat into a “Wall Bear” (handstand shape) to reach the fluffy cotton candy at the top!
- The “Why”: Wall Bears and inverted climbing send a rush of sensory feedback to the brain, building shoulder stability and full-body inversion confidence. Meanwhile, doing inchworms across a narrow beam to follow “gummy worms” requires fine-tuned ankle stabilization and deep concentration.
What You’ll See on the Floor
When you peer out into the gym, you won’t just see your toddlers moving—you’ll see them discovering. Because our character lesson centers on Curiosity, our coaches are guiding these little adventurers to safely test their boundaries, explore new heights, and learn how to communicate when they need a hand using our Sign of the Month: “Help.” We are so excited to navigate this sweet, active journey alongside your family.
